Our student project is an ambitious decommodified housing development proposed for Blue Bonnets site currently owned by the City of Montreal.

 

Student teams have worked not only on the site design, but on financial feasibility within existing programs, financial tools available to the social economy, recommendations on changes to public policy at all three levels of government to attack the root of the housing crisis, the governance structure, and more.

 

The “counter planning” exercise has resulted in a comprehensive proposal for the site, including permanently affordable home-ownership on a community land trust.
